Argentine Tango the night away at Pick School of Ballroom Dancing to romantic and passionate music like:
- "A Media Luz" by Manuel Pizzaro
- "Por Una Cabeza" by Carlos Gardel
- "El Trovero" by Quinteto Pirincho (pretty tango dancing with the song!)
At the Pick School of Ballroom Dancing Beginning Argentine Tango class you can learn how to lead or how to follow this romantic dance using dance moves like the walk or caminada, the basic or el basico and maybe even some flirty figure eights or ochos.
The Argentine Tango is thought to have originated in the mid 1800's when African slaves were brought to Argentina and their dances and music began to influence the local culture.
The world wide spread of the Argentine Tango did not happen until the early 1900's when young and wealthy upper class Argentinian young men brought the dance to Paris.
And as they say... the rest is history! If you'd like to read more about the Argentine Tango and its exotic beginnings click here.
