At the Pick School of Ballroom Dancing Beginning American Waltz class you can learn how to lead or how to follow this timeless dance using dance moves like the forward and backward basic, hesitations and turns.

According to Wikipedia, the Waltz shocked many when it was first introduced and became the dance to be seen doing in Vienna around the 1780s, spreading to many other countries in the years to follow.

Fashionable in Britain during the Regency period, the entry in the Oxford English Dictionary shows that it was considered "riotous and indecent" as late as 1825.

The Waltz, especially in closed position, became the template for the creation of many other ballroom dances.
