The May 19th Party and Showcase pro show dancers announced!
Rose Vierling & Jesse Dishart and Erin Pick & Eric Koptke will be on hand to perform a pro show during the party that will inspire you to dance, dance, dance all night long!
Rose teaches the Argentine Tango classes at Pick School of Ballroom Dancing and since first starting Argentine Tango 10 years ago she has studied with many Argentine Masters, such as Oscar Mandagaranda and Georgina Vargas, Carlos Gavito, Jorge Torres and others.
She has performed at numerous events from the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival to the 49er Half-Time Show. Rose and her partner, Jesse Dishart, were both principle dancers in Christy Cote’s LiberTango Dancers. Click here to see a YouTube of Rose and Jesse performing an Argentine Tango.
Erin Pick is the Owner of Pick School of Ballroom Dancing and when interviewed by The Examiner talked about her early years in ballroom dancing:

“I started ballroom dancing at 8 years old. My mother, along with her partner Roy Hinton and teachers in the school, Gene Jennings and Derek Lewis, gave me my basic foundation in dance and I went on to compete as an amateur, then as a professional and in Pro/Am competitions.
I earned my teaching credentials with the Imperial Society of Teachers, through which I became a Licentiate in the International Standard and Latin dances.
I also earned my teaching credentials with Terpsichore, a dance association through which I became an Associate in the American style Smooth and Rhythm dances.”

Last Argentine Tango Workshop for 2012!
Offered by Rose Vierling, the workshop will focus on individual technique and partner connection. Technique is extremely important for improving general dance level and partner connection.
The workshop will consist of a variety of exercises both solo and with a partner. Rose will be working on technique for all levels of dancers, beginning through advanced, and will be giving students drills to help them improve their technique.

About Rose Vierling
Rose Vierling is a graduate of the Ballroom Dance Teachers College (BDTC). She is DVIDA certified and continues her silver and gold certifications under Diane Jarmalow, the founder of BDTC.
Rose started dancing ballet, tap and jazz as a child and began partner dancing in high school. Upon moving to San Francisco, she became an avid salsa and Argentine tango dancer.
Since first starting Argentine tango 10 years ago she has studied with many Argentine Masters, such as Oscar Mandagaranda and Georgina Vargas, Carlos Gavito, Jorge Torres and others.

The American Tango is part of a category of tango called Ballroom Tango. While it certainly has its roots in the tango of Argentina it evolved substantially as it came across the ocean to Europe.
Today we enjoy a dance that emphasizes sharp head movements and initiating movement from the lower joints of the hips, knees and ankles with a look and feel like the paso doble.
This dance is very popular to watch and lots of fun to execute crisply and cleanly with your partner!
